I just tried to post a reply to the smilies thread and got this:

   An Error Has Occurred!
You already submitted this post! You might have accidently double clicked, or tried to refresh.

Not true. I never. I didn't. Can anyone see the post? I can't.

So I suggest a forum for reporting Troubles.

Incidentally, the post would have said:  crazy.......and not looking for smilies.....so crazy lazy........

Hmmm the same thing has now happened trying to post this new topic.......

Edit Resolution: I used preview instead of post button. The post button worked from the preview page.

Is this a bug or a special feature to make Llamas paranoid?  Or are you testing Alpaca's requirements for everyone to get previewed?   Life is always full of interest. ???

Edit the 2nd  The bug has now cleared; I posted ok in spell check with just pressing the post button. Still, is it a bug?  When is a bug not a bug?

Edit the 3rd Ummmmmm. Hmmmm. No it's back again. it just rejected Edit the 2nd.  >:(

Lemme see if I have any troubles posting this.

Before I try, have you tried using alt+s to submit/post?  I've used it a couple times (actually, ctrl-s on the Mac) successfully.

Well, it posted with no issues using the "post" button, but it did something strange afterwards.  Instead of dumping me back into the (updated) thread, it instead ditched me into the "suggest a new category" level.  Is it supposed to do that?  Every other board I've ever been on puts you back into the thread you just posted into.

Hallo Mr. Ska.

The post issue I reported above seems to be intermittent as it does not always happen to me.

The answer to your question is, yes I have noticed this as well, dumping back up a level. I believe there is a setting for action to be taken after a post. It may be on your profile management - have a look for it. I can't remember the details and it may only be an admin function - am in a rush but will look another time if you are still having trouble. PM me.

Edit hmmm. this problem seems to be intermittent too. This post posted fine and returned me to the same level as I posted from. But what you reported has definitely been happening to me at other times. It is possible the Admin is changing default settings for the board of course which could explain why we have these intermittent experiences.

Well, I found it, sort of.  If you click "additional options" just above where the post/preview/spell check buttons are, you get a checkbox for "Return to this topic".  Nothing in my profile that I've found thus far, however.

Edited to add: I tried the checkbox, and it works once for that post only.  I wondered if maybe it would remember and keep doing it, but no such luck.

Edited yet again to add more thusly: Ah, it remembers that I checked the box for THIS post, and keeps putting me back into the thread.  Of course, I'm just editing the same post over and over, so maybe that's not surprising.

Ah, exploration!
