Anyone know of a database of llama farms?  We need to know where these hairy beasts reside before we can truly understand (and eat) them.

Some of my old neighbors in Georgia kept llamas.  That would be southwest Georgia, and the neighbors would be eccentric.

I've managed to find links for all kinds of llama and alpaca farms here in Ontario... but fer cryin' out loud, nobody's EATING them!!  They'll all about riding, or leading, or selling their fibres... not one farm that says "Come on down and meet the meat!"

They DO sound like interesting animals to have around.  If I ever get the acreage I want, I might just get a couple.  And make friends with a butcher.

Mean?  For wanting to eat a llama?  Who is this Qwerty, and why do they think killing a mean person (like me, apparently) will make llama meat any less tasty?  And please note it was not I that shared that information, but Darren himself.

If it's the llama's perceived "cuteness" that offends in regards to its being consumed as a meaty meal, then please suggest an uglier, less charasmatic animal with high-quality, low-fat meat.  Preferrably one with nice ribs.

Baby cows are cuter but not near as tasty as baby llamas.  Don't even get me started about smoked llama ribs!  Wub

Baby animals taste better when they spend their entire lives trapped in little boxes.  I think the fear and anguish makes a great tenderizer.

Kobe beef baby cows get grain and beer in their tiny little boxes!  That doesn't sound all that bad.  Devil
