Hi
After I spent some time to get the zoom gallery 2.5.1 RC1 on joomla 1.0.10 working with opensef I gave it up tray and error. I posted a thread in zoom gallery about opensef but no response too....
Yesterday the rc2 of zoom gallery was ready to download. I was wondering about it and about opensef integration but it still does not work! Now I desided to stay on rc1 (I found for my config too much bugs on rc2) but my users asking me still whats going on about frontend upload... Can you give me some advise how to get it working like on your site or is it too heavy with OpenSEF 2.0.0-RC5_SP2... or or ....

Hi,

I am sure my extension is not compatible with RC2.  I haven't even had a chance to install RC2 yet.  I'll get around to it this weekend hopefully.  My extension needs to be rewritten using OO anyway.

Thanks,
Darren

without opensef:
/index.php?option=com_zoom&page=mediamgr&catid=73&Itemid=12

with opensef:
/index.php?option=com_zoom&page=mediamgr&catid=&Itemid=12

Perhaps this is easy to convert?

Dude,  I don't think it's working at all.  Give me some time on it and I will get it squared away.

Okay.  Looks like it works basically.  I haven't tested it well.

To get it to work I had to go into OpenSEF configuration.   On the components tab, find the zOOm Gallery component, then give it an alias of your choice and check the "Use Alias" check box.

Let me know if you find any bugs.  If you do find one, disable sef and try it again.  If it still doesn't work post a bug report here in a new topic.

Thanks,
DD

Hi Bjoern,

I was looking at your site.  What is the path to your sef_ext.php?  What alias are you using in your OpenSEF configuration?

Thanks,
Darren

Hi Darren

So I am back. I changed the config - Opensef Components - Gallery-> Use Alias -> gallery (gallery is the name of the alias)
Then copied your sef_ext.php to compnents/com_zoom. Turned on the opensef and tried,  but it still fails to use the mediamanger on the frontend  shocked
Then I turned the opensef off - working again....

Information: I copied your sef_ext.php (without changes) on my webserver under opensef 2.0.0.-RC5_SP2 -> you wrote that this combination will not work... did you made some changes on a new sef_ext.php  huh

Please see this topic for them media manager.  This is a zOOm Gallery bug:

http://llamacouncil.org/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,55/topic,42.0

In this topic there is a link to the zOOm bug tracker.  If you would like go over to the bug tracker and confirm my bug and the fix if it works for you.  Hopefully zOOm will fix the rest of the OpenSEF bugs.

OpenSEF RC5 sp2 is fine.  I had to make changes to my extension for it to work.

Please note that zOOm Gallery is a Release Candidate and my extension is Alpha.  There will be bugs.  I will do my best to make changes for them both.

Thanks,
Darren

Hello at all!

Yes! Media Manager works on Frontent - with the recommand sef_ext.php (0.13 alpha) and change on mediamgr.php.
It works only without using "." in the media name, but thats ok.

But, bad news - there are also problems with select pictures for edit or delete in the frontend.

Exists a solution to exclude the whole zoom component from opensef?
That may be a good way to use sef for text content and a 100% working zoom frontend.

Exclude in sef alias configuration don't help for this. And generaly disabling sef is quite painfull.

Thanks

Dirk

Hello again!

... I read now this:

http://llamacouncil.org/forum/index.php?topic=47.0

Ok!
But exklude Zoom component from sef will be a nice workaround.

Thanks
